Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 4 grams
- Vegetable oil - 15 ml
- Ground chicken (Halal) - 100 grams
- Green onions, finely chopped - 30 grams
- Ginger, minced - 5 grams
- Garlic, minced - 5 grams
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 5 ml
- Black pepper - 1 gram
- Coriander leaves, chopped - 10 grams
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a bowl, mix ground chicken, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and coriander leaves until well combined.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rectangle (about 20x15 cm).
- Spread half of the chicken filling evenly over each rectangle of dough. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log.
- Cut each log into 5 equal pieces and place them seam-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
