Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Salt - 4 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 15 ml
  • Ground chicken (Halal) - 100 grams
  • Green onions, finely chopped - 30 grams
  • Ginger, minced - 5 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 5 grams
  • Soy sauce (Halal) - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • Black pepper - 1 gram
  • Coriander leaves, chopped - 10 grams

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a bowl, mix ground chicken, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and coriander leaves until well combined.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rectangle (about 20x15 cm).
  6. Spread half of the chicken filling evenly over each rectangle of dough. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log.
  7. Cut each log into 5 equal pieces and place them seam-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
