Ingredients

  • Mushrooms (button or shiitake) - 300 grams
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions (sliced) - 2 stalks
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim the stems if necessary.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt to create the marinade.
  3. Add the cleaned mushrooms to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the marinated mushrooms to the skillet, reserving the marinade for later. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until mushrooms are tender and slightly caramelized.
  6. Pour the reserved marinade over the mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced spring onions and black sesame seeds before serving.
