Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu between paper towels or a clean kitchen towel for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into 1.5 cm thick slices and place them in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
  5. Once hot, place the marinated tofu slices on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
  6. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve the grilled tofu garnished with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
