Ingredients

  • Brussels sprouts - 300 grams
  • Hoisin sauce - 3 tablespoons

  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Green onions - 2, sliced (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  6. While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the hoisin glaze by mixing hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, grated ginger, and sesame seeds in a small bowl.
  7. Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the hoisin glaze over them. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Return the glazed Brussels sprouts to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
