Ingredients

  • Duck breast - 250 grams
  • Hoisin sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Flatbread (store-bought or homemade) - 2 pieces
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Score the skin of the duck breast in a crosshatch pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
  3. Season the duck breast with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, place the duck breast skin-side down and cook for about 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  5. Remove the duck from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly.
  6. In the same skillet, add the hoisin sauce and sesame oil, heating gently until warm.
  7. Spread the hoisin sauce mixture evenly over the flatbreads.
  8. Top each flatbread with sliced duck, red bell pepper, cucumber, green onions, and cilantro.
  9. Place the topped flatbreads on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until the edges are crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
