  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2, whole wheat preferred
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, finely shredded
  • Carrot - 1 medium, grated
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced chicken with garlic, ginger, spring onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties and refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up.
  3. While the patties chill, prepare the slaw by mixing the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, rice vinegar, and chopped cilantro in a separate bowl. Set aside.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until warm.
