Ingredients

  • pork tenderloin - 300 grams
  • soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • honey - 1 tablespoon
  • five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Slice the pork tenderloin into thin strips, about 1 cm thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Add the pork strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours for a deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the pork from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
  6. Grill the pork strips for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  7. During the last minute of grilling, baste the pork with the reserved marinade to add extra flavor.
  8. Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
