- water - 100 ml
- cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
- carrot - 50 grams, grated
- shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams, finely chopped
- green onions - 2, finely sliced
- ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- garlic - 1 clove, minced
- soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- oil for frying - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water, knead until smooth, and let it rest for 20 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
- In another bowl, mix the chopped cabbage, grated carrot, chopped shiitake mushrooms, green onions, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface until thin, then cut into 8-10 cm circles.
- Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each dough circle, fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, then place the dumplings in the skillet and fry until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add 100 ml of water to the skillet, cover immediately, and steam the dumplings for about 5-7 minutes until the water is evaporated.
- Remove the lid, let the dumplings fry for another 1-2 minutes to crisp up the bottom, then transfer to a plate and serve hot.
