Ingredients

  • Pork tenderloin (or Halal beef) - 250 grams
  • Cornstarch - 100 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Vegetable oil - for baking (about 1 tablespoon)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Slice the pork tenderloin into thin strips and marinate with soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix cornstarch and all-purpose flour together.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg and add water to create a batter.
  5. Coat each marinated meat strip in the flour mixture, then dip it into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Arrange the coated strips on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the meat strips to promote crispiness.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through until golden brown.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and sprinkle with sesame oil and chopped green onions before serving.
