Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 3 tablespoons
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions (chopped) - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the gluten-free soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Place the pork ribs in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill or oven to 180°C (350°F). If using a grill, prepare it for indirect heat.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
- Grill the ribs for about 1 hour, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved marinade every 15 minutes, until the ribs are tender and caramelized. If using an oven, place the ribs on a baking tray lined with foil and bake for about 1.5 hours, basting as needed.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill/oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
