Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped for garnish
- Cilantro - a handful for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, black pepper, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Place the pork ribs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil.
- Reserve the marinade and cover the ribs with another sheet of aluminum foil. Bake for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, remove the foil and brush the ribs with the reserved marinade. Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the ribs are caramelized and slightly crispy on the outside.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing into individual ribs. Garnish with chopped spring onions and cilantro before serving.
