Ingredients
- 2 large bell peppers (any color) - 300g
- 200g halal ground chicken or beef
- 50g cooked jasmine rice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 small carrot, finely diced (50g)
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for grilling
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Steps
- Prepare the bell peppers by cutting the tops off and removing the seeds and membranes. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, cooked rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, carrot, green onions, black pepper, and five-spice powder. Mix until well combined.
- Stuff each bell pepper with the meat mixture, packing it down gently but firmly.
- Preheat the grill to medium heat and brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the stuffed peppers on the grill and cook for about 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and the peppers are tender.
- Remove from the grill and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
