Ingredients

  • 2 large bell peppers (any color) - 300g
  • 200g halal ground chicken or beef
  • 50g cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 small carrot, finely diced (50g)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for grilling
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Steps

  1. Prepare the bell peppers by cutting the tops off and removing the seeds and membranes. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, cooked rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, carrot, green onions, black pepper, and five-spice powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Stuff each bell pepper with the meat mixture, packing it down gently but firmly.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium heat and brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the stuffed peppers on the grill and cook for about 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and the peppers are tender.
  6. Remove from the grill and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
