Ingredients

  • Prawns (large, deveined) - 300 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Skewers (soaked in water) - 4 pieces

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, lemon juice, chili flakes, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
  2. Add the prawns to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated prawns onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each prawn for even cooking.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the prawns are opaque and slightly charred.
  6. Once cooked, remove from heat and sprinkle with sliced spring onions for garnish.
  7. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
