Ingredients

  • Mutton chops - 400 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, chili flakes, black pepper, honey, sesame oil, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
  2. Add the mutton chops to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for better flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the mutton chops from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
  5. Grill the mutton chops for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked to your desired doneness, with nice grill marks.
  6. Once cooked, remove the chops from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
