Ingredients

  • Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Shaoxing rice wine - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Red bell pepper - 1, cut into 2.5 cm pieces
  • Zucchini - 1 small, cut into 2.5 cm pieces
  • Skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing rice wine, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, sesame oil, and chopped green onion to create the marinade.
  2. Add the lamb cubes to the marinade and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated lamb, red bell pepper, and zucchini onto the skewers, alternating between the lamb and vegetables.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
