Ingredients

  • Eggplant - 1 large (about 300g)
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Chili oil - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Cut the eggplant lengthwise into 1 cm thick slices.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili oil, and honey to create a marinade.
  4. Brush the marinade generously over both sides of the eggplant slices.
  5. Let the eggplant marinate for about 10 minutes.
  6. Place the marinated eggplant slices on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
  7. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
