- Beef sirloin - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Hoisin sauce - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 15 ml
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the beef cubes to the marinade and ensure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
