Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Hoisin sauce - 30 ml
  • Sesame oil - 15 ml
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade and ensure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked through and has a nice char.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
