Ingredients
- Beef heart - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Rice wine - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped for garnish
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Start by cleaning the beef heart, removing any excess fat or connective tissue, and slicing it into thin strips about 1 cm thick.
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, black pepper, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the sliced beef heart to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Remove the beef heart from the marinade and thread the strips onto skewers. Discard the marinade.
- Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the beef heart is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Once cooked, remove from the grill and drizzle with lemon juice. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
