  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped for garnish
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Start by cleaning the beef heart, removing any excess fat or connective tissue, and slicing it into thin strips about 1 cm thick.
  2. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, black pepper, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
  3. Add the sliced beef heart to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove the beef heart from the marinade and thread the strips onto skewers. Discard the marinade.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the beef heart is cooked through and has a nice char.
