Ingredients

  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • Water - 80 ml
  • Ground pork - 100 grams
  • Chopped green onion - 2 tablespoons
  • Minced ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - for dusting

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gluten-free all-purpose flour and water to form a dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped green onion, minced ginger, gluten-free soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into a thin circle on a lightly dusted surface with cornstarch.
  4. Place a small spoonful of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle.
  5. Fold the circle in half over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal. You can also pleat the edges for a decorative touch.
  6. Bring a pot of water to a boil and place a steamer basket over it. Steam the wontons for about 10-12 minutes until the pork is cooked through.
  7. Alternatively, for a crispy texture, heat a non-stick pan over medium heat with a little oil, add the wontons, and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
