Ingredients
- Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
- Water - 70 ml
- Black sesame paste - 30 grams
- Granulated sugar - 20 grams
- Fresh ginger - 10 grams
- Brown sugar - 20 grams
- Water (for syrup) - 500 ml
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and 70 ml of water to form a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and flatten each piece into a small disc.
- Place a small amount of black sesame paste (about 7.5 grams) in the center of each disc, then fold the dough over to seal and form a ball.
- Bring 500 ml of water to a boil in a pot.
- Carefully drop the tangyuan into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, about 5-7 minutes.
- While the tangyuan are cooking, peel and slice the fresh ginger.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the sliced ginger, 500 ml of water, and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 5 minutes to infuse the flavor.
- Once the tangyuan are cooked, remove them with a slotted spoon and place them in bowls.
- Strain the ginger syrup and pour it over the tangyuan in the bowls. Serve warm.
