Ingredients

  • Chicken wings - 500 grams
  • Cornstarch - 50 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Ketchup - 100 grams
  • Rice vinegar - 30 ml
  • Honey - 30 grams
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 30 ml
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (minced) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, and cornstarch until well coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken wings in batches and fry for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove the wings from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine ketchup, rice vinegar, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Toss the fried chicken wings in the sweet and sour sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions.
