- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Honey or maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Drain the tofu and press it for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and toss them in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy on all sides.
- Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the red chili flakes, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey or maple syrup, cooking for another minute.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and toss it in the sauce until well coated.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
