Ingredients

  • Ground pork - 200 grams
  • Gluten-free soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Gluten-free breadcrumbs - 2 tablespoons
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Bok choy, chopped - 200 grams
  • Chicken broth - 500 milliliters
  • Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon (optional, for thickening)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine ground pork, gluten-free soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, minced garlic, green onion, gluten-free breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal meatballs and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. Gently add the meatballs to the simmering broth and cook for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally until they are cooked through.
  5. Add the chopped bok choy to the pot and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the greens are tender.
  6. If you prefer a thicker broth, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry and stir it into the pot. Cook for another minute until the broth thickens slightly.
  7. Serve the meatballs and bok choy in bowls, ladling the broth over the top, and garnish with additional chopped green onion if desired.
