Ingredients

  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 100g
  • Butter - 50g, softened
  • Powdered sugar - 30g
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Milk - 100ml
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour, softened butter, and powdered sugar until crumbly.
  2. Add the egg and mix until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  4. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and cut into circles to fit your tart molds.
  5. Press the dough circles into the tart molds, making sure to cover the bottoms and sides.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla extract, salt, and cornstarch until smooth.
  7. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared tart shells, filling them about 3/4 full.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the custard is set and the tops are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
