- Jasmine rice - 150 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves

- Green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 300 milliliters
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak for 15 minutes.
- In a pot, combine the soaked rice with 300 milliliters of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.
- Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well to coat the shrimp evenly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove the skillet from heat and add the chopped green onions, mixing to combine.
- Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and serve it on plates, topped with the garlic shrimp mixture.
