  • Fresh clams - 500 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams

  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the fresh clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit.
  2. In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add the clams. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes until they open. Discard any clams that remain closed.
  3. Remove the clams from the pot and set aside, reserving the cooking liquid.
  4. In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the red chili flakes, soy sauce, lemon juice, and reserved cooking liquid from the clams. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes.
  6. Add the steamed clams to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
