Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Instant yeast - 5 grams
- Baking powder - 5 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Vegetable oil - 15 ml
- Salt - 1 gram
- Mixed fruits (e.g., diced apples, bananas, and berries) - 150 grams
- Cornstarch - 10 grams
- Lemon juice - 10 ml
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, baking powder, and salt.
- Add warm water and vegetable oil to the dry mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the fruit filling by mixing the diced mixed fruits, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl. Set aside.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a small circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the fruit filling in the center of each circle, fold the dough over the filling, and pinch to seal tightly.
- Place the buns on a piece of parchment paper in a steamer basket, leaving space between each bun.
- Steam the buns over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until fluffy and cooked through.
- Remove the buns from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
