  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Instant yeast - 5 grams
  • Baking powder - 5 grams
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 15 ml
  • Salt - 1 gram
  • Mixed fruits (e.g., diced apples, bananas, and berries) - 150 grams
  • Cornstarch - 10 grams
  • Lemon juice - 10 ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add warm water and vegetable oil to the dry mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. While the dough is rising, prepare the fruit filling by mixing the diced mixed fruits, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl. Set aside.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal portions.
  7. Roll each portion into a small circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
  8. Place a spoonful of the fruit filling in the center of each circle, fold the dough over the filling, and pinch to seal tightly.
  9. Place the buns on a piece of parchment paper in a steamer basket, leaving space between each bun.
  10. Steam the buns over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until fluffy and cooked through.
  11. Remove the buns from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
