- Glutinous rice - 150g
- Water - 200ml
- Dried apricots - 30g, chopped
- Dried cranberries - 30g
- Almonds - 20g, chopped
- Walnuts - 20g, chopped
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 1 hour.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel.
- Steam the rice over simmering water for about 20 minutes or until translucent and fully cooked.
- In a bowl, combine the steamed rice with chopped dried apricots, dried cranberries, chopped almonds, chopped walnuts, honey, sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt.
- Mix the ingredients well until evenly combined, then allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Wet your hands and form small balls (about the size of a golf ball) from the rice mixture, pressing firmly to hold them together.
- Place the formed rice balls on a plate and let them cool completely before serving.
