- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Spring onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu cubes until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a little more oil if necessary, then sauté the minced garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced red and green bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
- Return the fried tofu to the skillet, then add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
