Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2 stalks
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Toss the tofu cubes in the mixture until evenly coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes in a single layer and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- While the tofu is frying, finely mince the garlic and chop the green onions.
- Once the tofu is done, remove it from the pan and drain excess oil on paper towels.
- In the same pan, add the sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return the fried tofu to the pan and add the soy sauce. Stir gently to coat the tofu in the sauce and garlic.
- Finally, sprinkle the chopped green onions on top, mix well, and serve hot.
