Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2 stalks
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Toss the tofu cubes in the mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes in a single layer and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  4. While the tofu is frying, finely mince the garlic and chop the green onions.
  5. Once the tofu is done, remove it from the pan and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  6. In the same pan, add the sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  7. Return the fried tofu to the pan and add the soy sauce. Stir gently to coat the tofu in the sauce and garlic.
  8. Finally, sprinkle the chopped green onions on top, mix well, and serve hot.
