Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Skewers - 4 (soaked in water if wooden)
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Green onions - for garnish
Steps
- Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chili flakes (if using). Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- After marination, remove the tofu from the marinade and sprinkle the cornstarch evenly over the cubes, ensuring they're well-coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes in batches and fry until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Once fried, remove the tofu and let it drain on paper towels.
- Thread the fried tofu onto skewers and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
