- Firm Tofu - 250 grams
- Cornstarch - 50 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil - 500 milliliters (for frying)
- Chili Sauce - 2 tablespoons (for serving)
- Fresh Chopped Cilantro - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 2 cm cubes.
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika together.
- Coat each tofu cube evenly with the cornstarch mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- Carefully add the coated tofu cubes to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the tofu for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried tofu and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with chili sauce and garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.
