Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Ground chicken - 150 grams
- Cabbage - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 30 grams, finely grated
- Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water to form a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the ground chicken, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Divide the rested dough into small balls (about 20 grams each) and roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle, fold it in half to create a half-moon shape, and seal the edges by pinching them tightly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the dumplings and fry until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add a splash of water to the pan (enough to cover the bottom) and cover immediately to steam the dumplings for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
- Remove the lid and cook for an additional 2 minutes to re-crisp the bottoms before serving.
