Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Ground chicken - 150 grams
  • Cabbage - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Carrot - 30 grams, finely grated
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water to form a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the ground chicken, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Divide the rested dough into small balls (about 20 grams each) and roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface.
  4. Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle, fold it in half to create a half-moon shape, and seal the edges by pinching them tightly.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the dumplings and fry until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add a splash of water to the pan (enough to cover the bottom) and cover immediately to steam the dumplings for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Remove the lid and cook for an additional 2 minutes to re-crisp the bottoms before serving.
