Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 100g
  • Coconut flour - 30g
  • Tapioca starch - 20g
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Honey - 2 tbsp
  • Coconut oil (for frying) - 500ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, tapioca starch, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the egg and honey until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until it is smooth and pliable.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece into a rope about 15 cm long.
  6. Twist each rope into a spiral shape and press the ends to seal.
  7. In a deep skillet or pot, heat the coconut oil over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
  8. Carefully place the twisted dough into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown on all sides.
  9. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
