Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 150 grams
- Butter - 75 grams, cold and cubed
- Cold water - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Broccoli florets - 100 grams
- Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Shredded mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
- Green onions - 2, sliced for garnish
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and cubed cold butter. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add the cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together. Form it into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the diced red bell pepper, julienned carrot, broccoli florets, and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
- Sprinkle the five-spice powder and soy sauce over the vegetables, stirring well to combine. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
- Spread the sautéed vegetables evenly over the crust and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
