Ingredients

  • Seitan - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Rice vinegar - 15 ml
  • Agave syrup - 10 grams
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Five-spice powder - 5 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Vegetable oil - for grilling

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, agave syrup, sesame oil, five-spice powder, minced garlic, and minced ginger to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the seitan into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.
  4. Remove the seitan from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until nicely charred.
  5. While grilling, chop the green onions and set aside.
  6. Once cooked, remove the seitan from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
