Ingredients

  • Lamb shoulder - 400 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Five spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon for grilling

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, five spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, black pepper, and chili flakes (if using).
  2. Add the lamb cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours for deeper flavor.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Skewer the marinated lamb cubes onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions.
