Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Mixed salad greens - 100 grams
  • Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1, julienned
  • Red bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, five-spice powder, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the beef is marinating, prepare the salad by combining the mixed greens, cucumber, carrot, red bell pepper, and cilantro in a large bowl.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef strips, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for a minute before adding it to the salad bowl.
  6. Drizzle the lime juice over the salad and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine all ingredients.
  7. Serve immediately, garnishing with extra cilantro if desired.
