Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. 1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. 2. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. 3. While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables by slicing the red bell pepper, julienning the cucumber and carrot, and chopping the cilantro.
  4. 4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef strips and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. 5. Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. 6. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef, red bell pepper, cucumber, carrot, chopped cilantro, and lime juice. Toss gently to mix everything together.
  7. 7. Serve the salad immediately, garnishing with additional cilantro if desired.
