Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Five spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef, soy sauce, rice vinegar, five spice powder, garlic, and ginger. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, toss the bell pepper and onion with cornstarch until coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add sesame oil and the bell pepper and onion mixture. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  7. Return the beef to the skillet and mix well with the vegetables. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with steamed rice.
