Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 100 grams
- Unsalted butter - 30 grams, softened
- Powdered sugar - 20 grams
- Egg yolks - 2 large
- Honey - 10 grams
- Milk - 30 ml
- Salt - a pinch
- Sesame seeds - 10 grams, for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, softened unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the milk to the flour mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the egg yolks, honey, and a pinch of salt until well combined. This will be the filling for the pastry.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- After chilling, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 3 mm thick. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a glass, about 8 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the egg yolk filling in the center of each circle, then fold the dough over the filling, sealing the edges well to prevent leakage.
- Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a little milk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
