  • Dumpling wrappers - 20 pieces
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce (halal) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken broth - 750 milliliters
  • Carrot - 1 small, diced
  • Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
  • Spinach - 50 grams
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine ground chicken, half of the chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the filling.
  2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold, and pleat the wrapper to seal. Repeat until all the filling is used.
  3. In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the diced carrots and sliced mushrooms, and simmer for about 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Carefully add the dumplings to the broth, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for 10-12 minutes until the dumplings float and are cooked through.
  5. Stir in the spinach and cook for an additional 2 minutes until wilted. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with the remaining green onions and fresh cilantro.
