Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 3, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, grated
- Red bell pepper - 1/2, finely diced
- Cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1, beaten (optional for extra richness)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt, then gradually add the water while mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chopped green onions, grated carrot, diced red bell pepper, shredded cabbage, soy sauce, black pepper, and the beaten egg (if using) until well combined.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Divide the rested dough into two equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle (about 20 cm in diameter).
- Spread 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil on each dough circle, then place half of the filling mixture in the center of each circle, leaving a border around the edges.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a sealed pocket, and then gently flatten it with your hands.
- Place the filled pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with a little more vegetable oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then cut in half to serve.
