Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 3, finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1 medium, grated
  • Red bell pepper - 1/2, finely diced
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1, beaten (optional for extra richness)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt, then gradually add the water while mixing until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the chopped green onions, grated carrot, diced red bell pepper, shredded cabbage, soy sauce, black pepper, and the beaten egg (if using) until well combined.
  4. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  5. Divide the rested dough into two equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle (about 20 cm in diameter).
  6. Spread 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil on each dough circle, then place half of the filling mixture in the center of each circle, leaving a border around the edges.
  7. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a sealed pocket, and then gently flatten it with your hands.
  8. Place the filled pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with a little more vegetable oil.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then cut in half to serve.
