Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Fresh spinach - 200 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Drain the tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Place a heavy object on top to press out excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1.5 cm cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and stir-fry until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the soy sauce and sesame oil over the spinach, and toss to combine.
- Serve the crispy tofu over the sautéed spinach and enjoy!
