Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, coat the tofu cubes evenly with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the tofu cubes in batches until they are golden and crispy on all sides, about 6-8 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the sauce.
- In the same pan, lower the heat and pour in the sauce mixture, stirring for about 2 minutes until heated through.
