  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons (30 grams)
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons (45 ml)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm cubes.
  2. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the tofu cubes in a single layer, cooking until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes total.
  5. Remove the tofu from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  8. Return the crispy tofu to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the sauce, and heat for another 2-3 minutes.
