- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Yellow bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 4 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the tofu cubes to the skillet in a single layer and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet, and add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine and heat through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
