Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Wooden skewers - 4 pieces (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 2 cm cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  5. In a separate bowl, toss the marinated tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  6. Thread the tofu cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  7. Place the skewers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden and crispy, turning halfway through.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
