Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  • Cornstarch - 1/4 cup
  • Nori sheets - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into prawn-like shapes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the rice flour, cornstarch, chopped nori, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Gradually add water to the dry mixture, stirring until you have a thick batter.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Dip each tofu piece into the batter, ensuring it is well coated, then gently place it in the hot oil.
  6. Fry the tofu prawns for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
