Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 100 ml (for frying)
  • Burger buns - 2 units
  • Cucumber slices - 50 grams
  • Carrot (shredded) - 30 grams
  • Fresh cilantro - 10 grams
  • Chili garlic sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, garlic powder, ground ginger, and black pepper.
  3. Coat each tofu slice with the cornstarch mixture, ensuring an even layer on all sides.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the tofu slices.
  5. Fry the tofu for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. While the tofu is frying, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on a separate pan if desired.
  7. Spread mayonnaise and chili garlic sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
  8. Place a crispy tofu slice on each bun, then top with cucumber slices, shredded carrot, and fresh cilantro.
  9. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
